Year 3 Old Clee Church

  • January 22, 2026

Despite the wet weather, Year 3 had a fascinating visit to Old Clee Church! Did you know this ancient site is the oldest building in Grimsby and Cleethorpes? It features a Saxon tower that dates all the way back to 1050 AD. As part of our Art topic on sculpture, the children focused on observing the church’s unique architectural features. We spent time sketching these details, which will serve as the inspiration for the next part of our project: creating our own clay sculptures based on our favourite parts of the building.
