Year 5 had an excellent day visiting Grimsby college. They chose different activities and learnt different skills throughout the morning as well as potential future choices when they are older.
Sports pupils took part in glow-in-the-dark football and developed team work skills. They could also wear ‘glow-in-the-dark paint to help them see each team. Pupils who took part in joinery got to design and build bird houses which they said was really fun and they look great!
Some pupil took part in computing and Esports where they learnt that you can play online gaming competitively and had a go at doing this on Minecraft – Leila was our winner! Science pupils extracted DNA and pupils who chose acting performed a dance to the APT song. Pupils who chose to take part in engineering designed a key ring and then watched how lasers followed their instructions via computer to print them out.
It was a fantastic day! Some pupils gave us feedback:
Rosie “I want to go to Grimsby college when I grow up”
Ria “It was really fun and I’d like to go back again for the whole day!”
Sofia “It has given me some ideas for what I’d like to do in my future”
