We love to be able to take our children on educational visits during their time at William Barcroft Junior School. Prior to Summer, our Year 5 cohort carried out a carefully timed walk out to tide edge with the knowledgeable officers from The Resort Hub, Cleethorpes. This was a key part of their Rivers topic back in the academy. Walking right out with the beach buggy and using the tannoy system they activated the sirens. The tannoy messages were ‘Stay safe’ and ‘Enjoy the beach safely’.
The children also took part in a workshop which was based on the beach where the resort officers discussed the dangers that beach users may come across when visiting Cleethorpes beach. This unique environment has fast tidal flows, sandbanks, areas of mud and children learnt the importance of not jumping in.
